| Lectureship in Early Modern English Literature (part-time, fixed-term) - Ghent University Ghent University announces a part-time (45%), fixed-term professorship (in the rank of lecturer) in the field of Early Modern English literature, starting on 1 October 2010 and ending on 30 September 2015. Candidates for this position should have earned a PhD in a relevant subject (which includes the theatre history of the period) prior to 1 October 2008. They should have a good research record, with an emphasis on peer-reviewed articles in international journals and in books with international publishers that likewise use peer review. The teaching load for the position is likely to consist of a Shakespeare course at third-year level; and either a course in theatre history at third-year level, or a course in Renaissance literature at MA level. Some supervision and evaluation of BA research papers and MA-dissertations will also be expected. | Part-time Associate Lecturer in Literature - UK Open University A part-time position as an Associate Lecturer (AL) with the UK's Open University is available, teaching the second-level course 'Approaching Literature' (see course description) to students based in continental Europe who are studying with the Open University for a British degree in English, English Literature or the Humanities. This is equivalent to a BA1 foundation course as taught in Belgian universities. The post is expected to take around 8 hours a week of assignment marking and teaching, from October to June, and can be combined easily with a 50% position held with another institution, or none at all. |
